It lies on the slopes of the Apennine Mountains, not far from the Adriatic Sea, offering both mountain and coastal influences. Highlights of Civitella del Tronto: The Fortress: The town is best known for the impressive Fortress of Civitella del Tronto (Fortezza di Civitella del Tronto), one of the largest fortresses in Italy.
