Joseph Larade & Arthur Muise - Chansons, Complaintes & Reels de Chéticamp

This out of print cassette tape collects field recordings of the remarkable Acadian singer and fiddler Joseph Athanase Larade from Chéticamp. It also includes three medleys of instrumental Cape Breton fiddling from the legendary Chéticamp Acadian fiddler Arthur Muise. It used to be sold at a museum in Chéticamp and was produced in the 1980s. Neither Larade or Muise ever commercially recorded albums, so these rare field recordings are some of the few examples we have of their music. Note that all songs are sung here by Joseph Larade, accompanying himself on fiddle in his unusual style. Muise's instrumental tunes are marked in the trackless.
