Accurascale ACC2896 | Class 60 Diesel Locomotive | 60007 Loadhaul | OO Gauge | Review | HD

Here is the final model train review to come of May 2026. This one is my eighth Accurascale Class 60 Diesel Locomotive in my fleet of OO Gauge Class 60 Diesel Locomotive models. This one is represented as 60007, although unnamed but in the sleek looking Loadhaul Orange and Black livery that is typically presented in its mid-1990's livery. The model is very heavy at 826 grams and that makes this one the heaviest of the 3 Class 60's available from Hornby, Cavalex Models and Accurascale being in number one. Before the year of 2025 came. Only Hornby produced a super detailed Class 60 that still is a good model and stood the test of time over the last 20 years since its debut. But now we have two new models that now supersede the Hornby one. This model from Accurascale is abundant in detail and functions. We have interchangeable valances at the front ends via four screws to release these. A word of warning, the screws are tiny so be careful not to lose them! There are NEM couplers and these models come with clear coloured ones. The Class 60 has working cab lights, engine room lights as well as directional lights that are default set to "day" mode. Unlike the Cavalex Models Class 60 being "FR" (front and rear axle only drive) with a central floating axle. The Class 60 from Accurascale is AWD (or X-drive) that drives all axles and there is plenty of weight to maximise traction and tractive effort. The real Class 60's have 473kN tractive effort and can pull the heaviest trains in the UK. They are only just shy of 27kN that matches the Stadler Euro4001 locomotives. The Class 60 from Accurascale has the 21-pin MTC connection that will take any suitable 21-pin decoder. The model has a lot of detail and comes with an abundant of etched metal nameplates, depot plaques and the BR double arrows that makes this one a true fine scale model. Overall Rating: 10/10.
