Roter Pfeil Spur1 Unboxing Teil1 - Märklin 55267 Triebwagen SBB RCe 2/4 607 - DHL-Paket beschädigt
I'm very pleased to have received a package on loan from Märklin via DHL on April 30, 2026, containing the "Red Arrow" RCe 2/4 series high-speed railcar in 1 to 32 scale for presentation in specialist magazines and on my YouTube channel. However, as you can clearly see in the video, the shipping package was badly damaged in several places. Therefore, I've decided to do my unboxing video in two parts this time. This first part was filmed quickly to check whether the model had to be returned to Märklin untested or whether it had actually survived the apparently very bumpy transport and works perfectly. A more thorough unboxing video will follow at a later date, in which I will show many details of the model up close, test all the digital functions, and also conduct extensive test runs. The prototype was put into service with the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in 1938 and sold to the Oensingen-Balsthal Railway (OeBB) in 1974. The RCe 2/4 607 "Red Arrow" high-speed railcar suffered engine damage in 2019 but was restored to working order – visually presented in its 1950s condition and staged by Märklin to reflect its operational state in 2023. This video consists of the following sections, which can also be accessed directly in the timeline: 00:00 DHL package with Märklin model was damaged 00:55 Unpacking shipping box Märklin 55267 02:04 Unpacking presentation box Märklin 55267 02:52 A look at instruction manual Märklin 55267 04:03 Styrofoam tray + aluminum presentation board 04:25 Was the railcar damaged during shipping? 05:10 Unscrewing from the transport tray 07:02 Close-up of bogies with folding skirts 08:10 A look under the hoods of the Red Arrow 09:20 Length, weight, and setting up for test runs 09:48 Automatic registration with CS3 control unit 10:32 Testing first digital functions of Red Arrow 11:45 Electrically operated pantograph 12:06 Test run Märklin 55267 Red Arrow 13:00 Running over turnouts 1020 mm radius 14:15 Fears proved unfounded! 14:52 Closing remarks / Unboxing announcement More about the model: https://www.maerklin.de/de/produkte/d... Since I am frequently asked about the price when presenting models - the Red Arrow has a recommended retail price of 3290 euros.
