Kirkby Stephen Autumn Horse Sale 2013 Harrison & Hetherington Ltd. hold an horse auction twice each year in march and september, at its auction mart in Kirkby Stephen Cumbria. Several hundred horses are entered into each auction by dealers and members of the public alike, with the auction being attended by both. Everything from a Shetland Pony to large Gypsy Cob are sold at each sale. Numerous dealers of tackle and harness attend the auction and display their goods for sale on the auction market carpark. If you wish to purchase a horse then you must first register as a bidder, before biddding. Bids are in English Guinea's, one guinea is the equivalent of £1.05p in sterling. Both sellers and buyers will pay the auction a percentage of the sale price to the auction market.
