Appleby 2026 — Day One: A Brilliant Beginning

Day One of the 250th Appleby Horse Fair… and what a brilliant beginning to the week. The atmosphere was already buzzing from the moment I arrived — horses coming in, wagons rolling through, families settling in, and that unmistakable Appleby energy filling the air. I even got the chance to go out on a horse drive for the very first time, which made the start of this year’s fair feel extra special. There’s something incredible about seeing Appleby from the cart — the sound of the hooves, the movement, the excitement all around. I’ll be sharing the flashing lane, the farrier area, and plenty more throughout the week, but today was all about soaking in the start of the 250th and enjoying every moment.
