In 1827 Maria Marten went to the red barn with the hope she would be married to her lover . William Corder took Marias life and buried her in the barn. After months of worrying about where Maria was , Marias stepmother had a recurrent dream that her daughter was in the red barn. the father went to the barn and dug the spot where his wife said she was.
