In this session, we propose a more philosophical, less technical approach to practice. We will ground the concepts in the body, in the experience of the asanas. We will explore Yoga Sutra 1.33 with a forward bend practice. We will dedicate ourselves to the practical study of the four mental attitudes presented by Patanjali in this sutra. Specifically, we will study upeksanam, equanimity, and mudita, joy for the well-being of others. This practical study is based on the observation of physical sensations and mental fluctuations (both superficial and profound). What do we do with the sensations we feel in asana? Do we interpret them? How do we interpret them? Based on what criteria, what labels, what expectations, what comparisons...? In this practice, we will become aware of this and seek to dilute the discursive component of our mind, dissolving judgments and comparisons. We will emphasize the equanimous observation of everything that happens, whether unpleasant or pleasant, whether it connects us with pleasure or pain, virtue or vice... To be witnesses to what occurs and embrace it unconditionally. To adjust our movements according to the sensation, without the filter of judgment.
