Hello everyone, this time, I'll be repairing an AC10-D riding tiller at the request of a viewer of my YouTube channel in Shimane Prefecture. For the past two months, the engine hasn't been starting in their greenhouse. After several inspections by a sales representative and mechanic from Company Y, the diagnosis was: "There's a problem with the flywheel, preventing the engine from starting." Since the part is no longer available, they considered buying a new tiller, but the current model costs around 2 million yen, which is far beyond the reach of a viewer who runs a farm independently. Therefore, they requested that I take a look at it, and I traveled to Shimane Prefecture. They said they would be happy if it could be repaired and that they would accept it even if it couldn't be repaired, so I repaired it to the best of my ability. Upon checking the symptoms, it seemed that the starter motor gear was trying to engage, but wasn't engaging properly, resulting in the engine not cranking. After removing the starter motor and checking the ring gear, it appeared to be in good condition. A standalone inspection of the starter motor revealed a defect in the gear-launching mechanism. I disassembled the motor, cleaned, greased, and adjusted each part to repair it and restore it to normal operation. The starter motor was marked "S114-650A," and a web search revealed it was selling for 24,000 yen. I requested that the part be replaced while it was still available to extend its lifespan, and the repair was completed. The diagnosis can vary depending on the mechanic. Of course, I've made mistakes in the past, which has led me to where I am today. This time, I wanted to just replace the starter motor and be done with it, but due to my relationship with Company Y, I entrusted the full repair to them. Although I haven't had the opportunity to be directly involved in food production, I believe it's a job that is needed by many people.
