Bespoke Navajo Rug Pen | Segmented Fountain Pen

I had a custom pen made for me by Gabe Castro of @exoticwoodpen. The pen’s design is inspired by the traditional Diné Shoulder Blanket (also known as the Navajo Chief Blanket) patterns of the 1800s. The pen features 14mm double-start threads to maintain proper alignment of the segmented geometric design from front to back and back to front when capped. Accent sections are made from crushed turquoise acrylic acetate, complemented by brass accent bands throughout the design. The segmented cap and body were handcrafted using Bloodwood with dyed white, blue, and black veneers layered over black Japanese ebonite, creating a repeating Navajo-inspired geometric pattern carried throughout the pen.
