Santa Maria di Leuca is located at the southernmost point of the Salento Peninsula, where the Ionian and Adriatic Seas meet. The coastline is indented with karst caves. The most famous grotto is the Grotto of the Three Gates. Its name comes from three enormous natural arches that resemble giant gates in the rock. The vaults reach a height of approximately 8 meters. The Devil's Grotto. The name refers to the eerie sounds created by the wind and waves inside the cave. The Grotto of the Giants. According to legend, the remains of mythical giants were found here.
