The tourist port of Santa Maria di Leuca is one of the largest in Salento, with 760 berths. The coastline alternates between rocky and sandy areas with magical grottoes accessible by boat; the most famous are the Devil's Grotto, the Giants' Grotto, the Lovers' Grotto, and the Dragon's Grotto. The church of Santa Maria de Finibus Terra is built on the ruins of an ancient pagan temple, right on Punta Meliso. Punta Meliso separates the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. Punta Ristola is the southernmost point of Italy.
