Wearing Real Medieval Transitional Armour - Sword School
Today, we kick off a new series of videos focusing on training and historical information we address during our practices. We decided that "Sword School" was a catchy title. Let us know what you think. Part of our study of the HEMA Master, Fiore dei Liberi, is his techniques on fighting in full "harness" (medieval heavy armour). During an evening practice in the Fall of 2021, we held an Armour Day, where Guild Members that have harness bring their gear to practice. Matt demonstrated to some of the newer Members how armour was worn and goes over the name and function of each piece. Unfortunately, the recording was one of inspired convenience while other practice was going on, so the sound is pretty poor. We'll likely do a more dedicated video in the future but, for now, you can learn about medieval heavy armour from the Transitional Period (most of the 14th Century and into the 15th).
