K5DCC-AI Radio Bridge

The K5DCC-AI Radio Bridge is a project dedicated to building an automated, AI-controlled voice interface between a Windows PC and a Baofeng UV-5R radio . By utilizing a SignaLink USB as a hardware bridge, the system provides necessary electrical isolation and VOX-based PTT (Push-To-Talk) control for seamless communication . The workflow, or "Logic Loop," functions as follows: Capture: Radio audio is received through the SignaLink's "USB Audio Codec" . Process: The audio is processed through a local LLM agent (running in a WSL2 environment via usbipd-win bridging) . Respond: The AI generates a response using a cloned voice (the "Denny" profile) via TTS engines like XTTS v2 or Kokoro-82M . Transmit: The generated voice is sent back through the SignaLink to trigger the radio’s transmit function . This setup allows for autonomous AI-to-radio interaction while ensuring legal compliance and operational transparency by identifying all transmissions with the call sign K5DCC-AI
