Applying to the Naval Aviation Community

IG: ‪@stellagraces‬ How to pursue the aviation community as an Officer Candidate/MECEP/Midshipman: Study for and take the ASTB Marine students: Minimums are 4 on the Academic Qualifications Rating (AQR) and 6 on the Pilot Flight Aptitude Rating (PFAR). Flight Officer Flight Aptitude Rating does not apply due to the Marine Corps no longer having NFOs. You should be aiming to have a point or two higher than the minimums. You are able to apply for an aviation contract once you complete your "junior" year or if you're due to commission the next fiscal year. If the Aviation goal is not made during the program change selection, then more spots will be offered later in the fiscal year. Navy students: Applicants for pilot training must attain a minimum score of “4” on the academic qualifications rating (AQR) and “5” on the pilot flight aptitude rating. Applicants for naval flight officer training must attain a minimum score of “4” on the AQR and “5” on the flight officer aptitude rating. Students may take the ASTB a maximum of 3 times, waiting 30 days in between. Only the student’s most recent scores will be considered.
