Initial plans for the station were to be called "Manzoni," as it is located at the intersection of Via Manzoni and Via Monte Napoleone and Via Croce Rossa. It was built with overlapping tracks to avoid passing under buildings. The lower level houses the odd-numbered track, heading towards San Donato, and the upper level houses the even-numbered track, heading towards Comasina. The mezzanine, located to the side, was excavated in the open, independent of the line's tunnels. It is located beneath Via Manzoni, on the corner of Via Monte Napoleone, both streets renowned for their luxury shops and fashion salons. Together with Via della Spiga and Corso Venezia, they form the so-called Fashion Quadrilateral. It has exits on Via Manzoni and Via dei Giardini. Interestingly, the name of the station does not include a space between the words "Monte" and "Napoleone," unlike the street name. Simultaneously with the construction of the station, a new layout of the surface area was conceived, with the construction of a monument designed by architect Aldo Rossi. Similar surface redevelopment projects were originally planned for two other M3 stops, Duomo and Crocetta, but in the end, only the Monte Napoleone one was built. Several urban, tram, and bus lines operated by ATM stop near the station. ๐ก M3 ๐ก: ZARA It was inaugurated on December 16, 1995, as the terminus of the extension from Sondrio. It remained the terminus until December 8, 2003, when the extension to Maciachini was opened. The station is located on Viale Zara at the intersection with Viale Stelvio, on Milan's trolleybus ring road. Both the M3 and M5 lines are underground and pass-through; the M3 line station has two tracks in a single tube with two side platforms.
