Solo Backpacking trip to Angel Lake in Idaho Pioneer Mountains | Fall Creek to Angel Lake

Angel Lake, located at the top of a mountain in Idaho, is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and unparalleled uniqueness. Its elevated position gives it an ethereal quality, as it seems to reside among the clouds. It’s close proximity to Pocatello Idaho is an excellent choice for a day hike or overnight backpacking trip. The hike begins at fall Creek trailhead and Wildhorse Canyon near Mackay, Idaho, with a 14 mile round-trip including 3200 feet of vertical ascent the hike is rated as difficult and advanced. 1/3 of the hike lacks a trail and you are virtually guaranteed to have the lake to yourself once you arrive at its glorious shore.
