An accident involving a 4-year-old girl on an escalator startled shoppers at a mall in São José dos Campos (SP). A step on the escalator gave way while Isabella was with her mother. Despite the scare and some scratches, the child did not suffer serious injuries. The incident occurred when Isabella was going up the escalator with her mother. When she placed her foot on the first step, it suddenly opened beneath her feet. The situation caused panic among those present until a customer managed to stop the machine. The mother reported that she was holding her daughter's hand as she entered the escalator and heard a loud noise before the accident happened. With part of her body trapped in the hole formed by the broken step, Isabella was quickly rescued by bystanders who turned off the equipment. After being removed from the structure with her legs covered in grease and some minor injuries to her thighs, Isabella received immediate medical attention at the scene from firefighters called to provide assistance. She was later taken to a nearby hospital where examinations confirmed the absence of fractures or more serious damage.
