The Castellows - Old Way, Horseshow Tavern, Toronto

I love The Castellows ballads like Old Way! It is such a tender song. Great melody, and dynamics. And Ellie of course crushes the keys again (playing this one after Alabama Stone). 0:00 Lily's Introduction 1:19 Old Way This Castellows' show in Toronto was the first headlining show in my hometown. it is clear that ‪@thecastellows‬ have not lost a beat from last year's shows and Homecoming Tour. It was great to see them play on the "Legendary" Horseshoe Tavern stage. They have played some iconic venues like Red Rocks and big, big arenas and stadiums (stadia?) which has to be thrilling. But the cozy venues are very special for fans too. Like here. I'm usually at The Horseshoe supporting a local band like ‪@TheSurfrajettes‬    • The Surfragettes - Summer Stomp Full Show,...   or driving/flying/railing to see The Castellows. The only bad thing about cozy stages is you might almost trip on something on a crowded stage (like your tambourine at 3:58 - good recovery Lily !!!). Old Way is from the Balkcom sisters Powell, Lily and Ellie's second EP "Homecoming". The CD is in our kitchen and gets a spin during meal prep :) This sure was not sophomore slump on this one! Just more great songs from these talented gals. My wife's favourite from it is Broke - another sweet ballad. Its hard to pick a favourite really. Lily's introduction always notes Powell and Ellie wrote this song and that it is one of her favourites. Now the first time I ever heard them play this gem was in Dothan, Alabama at The Plant:    • The Castellows - Old Way - The Plant, Doth...   - back before they Elly brought in the keyboard / piano arrangement. I know you must enjoy the fan videos - after all there are over 3 million views of the various shows and songs so far :) Even better, go book your 2026 shows to see them play live. The ladies and gents always rock.
