Kahurangi Solo - Cobb to Camp
Kahurangi National Park. A jewel in the crown of New Zealand outdoor wilderness and tramping locations. In this video, Sam undertakes a solo trip into the stunning Cobb Reservoir area travelling to the end of the main Cobb River valley and visiting all the historic huts along the way before climbing up past the majestic Lake Cobb and beautiful Round Lake before then climbing high into the mountains and traversing back along the tops to Camp Lake, a large and isollated mountain tarn (lake) and settin up camp for the night. After an enjoyable night tenting out with a great fire, Day 2 involved bush bashing 400m down an untracked mountain side to rejoin the valley floor track near Tent Hut. This video provides regular topographic (topo) map updates of the trip so anyone looking to undertake a similar route can use these for guidance and planning. SKOA hope you find this video informative, inspiring and enjoyable. Thanks for watching.
