Vinci is an Italian town near Empoli in the Metropolitan City of Florence, Tuscany region. The town's name is inextricably linked to that of Leonardo da Vinci, who was born here. Vinci's center is the Castello dei Conti Guidi, also known as the "Castello della Nave" (Castle of the Ship) because of its elongated shape, reminiscent of a sailboat.
