A historical work in which Miles Davis worked on the mode method in earnest and achieved results. Miles summoned Bill Evans for this recording. Miles thought that Evans was the right person to be a pianist who fully developed the mode method. The results that came to fruition here were immediately inherited by Coltrane and Evans, and they will establish their position as the top jazzmen who will be responsible for the new era.
