Boy (Zeitreise 1991-1997) Wholecar, Train Bomber, TVU, Graffiti Sonderkommission - HISTORY OF BERLIN
Boy is considered a dedicated graffiti train bomber, having been exposed to hip hop culture through his brother as a child during the GDR era. His first influences came from the film Beat Street by Harry Belafonte, which was broadcast several times on GDR television. In the early 1990s, Boy developed an interest in spray-painted S-Bahn trains and bombed-out subway cars. This led to him becoming an active graffiti artist himself in 1994, developing a keen interest in large-scale painting of local passenger trains. Through his consistent nighttime activities on Berlin railway facilities, he quickly made a name for himself as an exceptional graffiti artist, specializing in wholecars and top-to-bottom graffiti pieces. ✭ VIDEO TIMELINE ✭ 00:00 Intro 00:15 Inspiration from my brother (1987) 01:20 Bornholmer Straße S-Bahn Line (1989) 01:59 Art Assassin (1990) 02:51 Doodling with Colli Markers (1991) 03:04 Surfing the S-Bahn on the way to school (1991) 03:29 The first piece with school friends (1992) 04:04 Colorful train station piece (1992) 04:46 Meeting with the writer Siel (1993) 05:13 The first graffiti designs (1993) 05:40 Beat Street as a source of inspiration (1987) 06:29 Perception of spray-painted trains (1993) 07:16 The first train with Sparvar Cans (1994) 08:20 Your Picture Drives Through the City (1994) 08:52 Busted in Lichtenberg Yard (1994) 09:36 Special Commission: Graffiti in Berlin (1994) 10:17 Changing the Name to Boy (1994) 10:47 Searching the Parents' House (1994) 11:09 S-Bahn Backjumps in Zepernick (1994) 11:33 My Name on Every Train (1994) 12:23 Tactical Planning for a Train Bombing (1994) 14:04 Wholecar Action in Wannsee (1994) 14:51 It Tickled Me to No End (1994) 15:24 Stealing Spray Cans at the Hardware Store (1994) 15:50 The Climbing Wholecar Technique (1994) 16:48 Meeting with Writer True (1994) 17:27 Friday, January 13th (1995) 18:00 Vandalism and Damage to the Railway (1995) 18:44 RAF Crew Formation: Real Action Fun (1995) 19:01 Let's Only Paint Wholecars (1995) 20:36 Photos Were Very Important to Us (1995) 23:48 Confrontation with Nazis (1995) 24:57 In the Focus of the Graffiti Soko (1995) 25:31 Numerous Double Wholecar Actions (1995) 26:25 The Graffiti Book: Sabotage (1996) 28:44 First Contact with Lyte (1995) 30:33 The TVU Crew: The Very Ultimate (1997) 31:59 Tok & Chio Became TVU Members (1997) 33:19 Train Bombing Became a Daily Routine (1997) 35:34 Escape from the Police (1997) 36:29 We Always Finished Painting Trains (1997) 36:50 The Development of the Berlin Graffiti Scene (2020) 38:04 I'm No Longer Ready to Take a Risk (2020) 38:25 Painting Walls Is Like Meditation (2020) 39:31 Berlin Is an Incredibly Colorful City (2020) ✭ HISTORY OF BERLIN ✭ The History of Berlin production documents the zeitgeist of the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s with insightful interviews with contemporary witnesses from the hip hop culture, techno movement, punk scene, organized crime, and urban sports world.
