2027: Gov. Otti Welcomes Contestants, Says Democracy Thrives On Competition — Ekeoma

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Abia State Governor, Ferdinand Ekeoma, has said that Governor Alex Otti is not disturbed by growing political interests ahead of the 2027 governorship election, stressing that democracy allows every interested person to contest. Speaking during a media interaction, Ekeoma noted that individuals declaring interest in the governorship race are exercising their constitutional rights, adding that the administration remains focused on governance and service delivery rather than political distractions. According to him, the Governor and the Labour Party are confident in their popularity and performance across the state, insisting that the government enjoys the support and goodwill of the people. He recalled that the Labour Party and its supporters remained steadfast during the struggle to take over power in Abia State, even after what he described as years of political setbacks.
