This level crossing just outside of Barnsley in the village of Dodworth is fairly isolated, with no other active crossings near it these days, and has some interesting-sounding audible alarms. The disused signal box here once controlled this crossing, and its current location of control is believed to be from Barnsley itself, still not too far away really. 3-Car diesel Class 150 'sprinters' provide the traction featured, and on this day they were terminating short of Huddersfield at Lockwood - the final intermediate stop - likely due to Transpennine Route Upgrade works. The hourly-served line here between Barnsley and Huddersfield, though very scenic and varied, has an official name which has a notoriously puerile interpretation due to how it's spelt, named after one of the places it serves (pen-uh-stone is the closest I can probably get away with!). It's one of the many very odd place names in Britain, and is known to confuse automated censoring algorithms to this day - I don't want to take my chance!
