Seestar Plan Mode: How I Image All Night

I took the Seestar S50, Seestar S30 Pro, and Celestron Origin out to a dark sky site near Flagstaff and set up all three to image all night while I slept. This is a full walkthrough of how I use Seestar Plan Mode to do it. Plan Mode is hands-down one of my favorite features on the Seestar. It lets you build a full imaging schedule for the night — multiple deep sky targets, back to back — and then walk away. The telescope handles everything: target selection, framing, light pollution filter, even what to do when something goes wrong. You wake up to a folder full of images. In this video, I walk through every option inside Seestar Plan Mode in plain English — how to find what's high in the sky during your imaging window, how to filter out parts of the sky blocked by trees or buildings, how to frame mosaics, how to adjust your light pollution filter, and a few mistakes I've learned to avoid. I also share why the Celestron Origin's plan feature gave me trouble all night, and how the Seestar handles failed targets so gracefully that it just waits and picks up the next one on schedule. 🔭 What You'll Learn 🔭 How to build a full Seestar Plan Mode schedule from scratch — step by step 🔭 How to find the best deep sky targets for your specific imaging window 🔭 How to use the altitude filter to avoid trees, houses, and obstructions 🔭 How mosaic framing actually works (and why bigger isn't always better) 🔭 What happens when a target fails — and why the Seestar handles it better than the Origin 🔭 A first look at my Heart and Soul Nebula mosaic captured on the Seestar S30 Pro ⭐ Pro Tip: Always sign in to your Seestar account before building a plan. If you connect to the telescope's Wi-Fi without signing in, your plan won't sync across your other devices — and you'll lose the schedule the next time you connect from a different phone or tablet. 🔭 Gear, Resources & Socials Learn more about the gear I use, my social channels, and other resources: 👉 http://smartstargazer.com 📺 YouTube    / @thesmartstargazer   📘 Facebook   / thesmartstargazer   📸 Instagram   / thesmartstargazer   🎵 TikTok   / thesmartstargazer   🚀 About This Channel This channel is all about making astronomy simple.
