Captain Ronald Hodge of Ethiopian Airlines - Flying Africa's Skies (Part 1)

Dominica born (1965) Ronald Hodge, a 1981 graduate of the Saint Mary's Academy, is a former Leeward Island Air Transport Pilot (LIAT). Hodge was trained in aviation sciences at Sowell Aviation in Panama City, Florida. After 17 years at LIAT Hodge was encouraged by some LIAT pilots (Shane Harris of Grenada who now flies for Emirates Airlines and Charlesworth Hunte of Antigua who is now director of operations at 748 Air Services) to travel to Africa as a pilot. Captain Hodge became a pilot at Kenya"s DAC Airlines and Director of Operations at DAC. Captain Hodge later became a designated examiner for the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and later became the manager for flight standards and training at DAC Airlines. In 2016 Captain Hodge transitioned to Ethiopian Airlines and flew the Dash 8, Bombardier CRJ, Bombardier Q400 and the Boeing 767. Hodge has flown all over Africa and into Asia and Europe for Ethiopian Airlines. Captain Hodge has also been a flight instructor at Ethiopian Airlines - to include being a Crew Results Management (CRM) instructor. Captain Hodges' inspirational story is one that needs to be told as he is a role model for young people striving to reach their dream.
