AKSAI (Rostov Oblast) Aksai is a city in the Rostov Oblast of Russia, the administrative center of the Aksay urban settlement and the Aksay district. It is a satellite town of Rostov-on-Don. The city is located in the southeast of the Russian Plain, in the southwestern part of the Rostov Oblast, on the steep right bank of a bend in the Don River, where the Aksai River flows into it. Aksai is one of the closest cities to Rostov-on-Don, located 12 km east of its center (only Bataysk is closer, as this is the distance between the cities' post offices). The distance between the two cities' neighborhoods is less than 1 km as the crow flies, or about 1.5 km by road.
