Teleférico De Morelia reporta 70 % de avance
The Morelia cable car project is 70 percent complete. As part of its next construction phase, the installation of the carrier cable on the northern loop, one of the most important components for the system's operation, will begin, reported María Elena Huerta, head of the Secretariat of Urban Development and Mobility (Sedum). The cable installation will connect the Estadio, Pedregal, Primo Tapia, and Monumento stations, which make up the first section of the project and are scheduled to begin operations this year. This will provide Morelia residents with a modern, efficient, and sustainable transportation alternative that will improve mobility in the Michoacán capital. “Simultaneously, this Tuesday, work will begin on installing the electromechanical system at Station 6, near the Zoo. With this work, the mechanical assembly of the stations in the first phase of the project will be completed, leaving only the installation of the system at Station 7, Santa María, pending,” the state official noted. To date, 33 of the 41 poles that will make up the complete cable car line have already been installed. In addition, six more bases are ready to receive their respective metal shafts, allowing the assembly of the aerial infrastructure to continue at various construction sites.
