Construction of Cablebús Line 5 has begun and will connect the boroughs of Magdalena Contreras and Álvaro Obregón via a route of more than 15 kilometers, the Mexico City Ministry of Public Works and Services announced. The new line will have 12 stations, running from the Mixcoac multimodal transfer center (CETRAM) to the town of San Bartolo Ameyalco, benefiting approximately 137,000 residents in 62 neighborhoods. The project aims to improve mobility in one of the most geographically complex areas of the capital. The system will operate with 462 electric cabins, each with a capacity of 10 passengers, allowing it to transport up to 3,000 people per hour in each direction and reduce travel times by up to 50%.
