I Was Wrong About Easton FMJ Max Arrows (Real Hunting Results)

I ran the Easton 5.0 all season for Total Archery Challenge—and it was phenomenal. Fast. Accurate. Zero durability issues. So I decided to hunt with it too. My 5.0 build was simple: 300 spine Cut to ~27.75–28” 50gr brass insert 100gr point Stock microlite nock 3-fletch AAE Max Stealth 418–420 total grains It flew great and passed through every animal I shot—including a solid Kentucky buck and multiple does in North Carolina. But at ~300 fps, the bow was on the louder side. That’s when I switched to the FMJ Max—and it completely changed my perspective. I’ve never been an FMJ guy. I always thought: “They’re straight… until they bend.” Turns out, I was wrong. My FMJ Max build: Stock HIT insert (16gr) Collar (16–18gr) 100gr point Stock nock + AAE Max Stealth 465 total grains What changed? Bow was noticeably quieter Tuning was faster and easier Still got full pass-throughs Arrows pulled easier from cold 3D targets One arrow passed through two deer and still flew perfectly This video isn’t about extremes—super heavy arrows or extreme FOC.
