Photographing the Landscape of Eryri (Snowdonia) from the Gwydir Forest

The Forests in Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) are wonderful areas to explore at any time of the year. Overlooking the beautiful welsh town of Betws-y-Coed, I stayed in the Gwydir Forest for a week of Landscape Photography during September 2023. I first explored the River Conwy, which passes through Betws-y-Coed, then hiked directly from the rental cottage located into the heart of the forest. From the forest I watched the mist roll across the distant mountains and captured some dramatic mountain photos. It was a relief to have some cooler and cloudier weather after the heat-wave during the first week of September. Towards the end of my stay, I was rewarded with a golden sunset from high up in the Gwydir Forest, with a view looking west towards the mountains that overlook the Ogwen valley.
