Pioneer T-858 Restoration – Hidden Gem in Golden Color! First Service in Decades

Today I worked on restoring a Pioneer T-858 – a rare and beautiful cassette deck in golden finish, and I have to say, this one really impressed me! ✨ This deck is essentially a CT-93 in disguise – same high-end internals, just in a different body without wooden cheeks and missing Dolby S. It’s also notable as the last Pioneer model with the cassette well on the left – after this, all models moved it to the center, reducing the iconic wide display. 🛠️ This deck came untouched, never serviced before. I was the first to open it up, and it was like new inside – a true collector’s dream. Only a tiny scratch on the record volume knob keeps it from perfection. ✅ Automatic calibration works flawlessly, and after fine-tuning, the sound is outstanding – crisp highs, strong bass, and detailed mids.
