To make dim sum, you need elastic wrappers. Besides buying them at the supermarket, you can also make them yourself at home. With just two main ingredients, flour and warm water, you can create dim sum wrappers with a chewy and elastic texture. Dimsum & Siomay Skin Recipe (16-20 pcs) Siomay skin: 135 grams medium protein flour 70 grams warm water ¾ teaspoon salt Dimsum skin: 120 grams all-purpose flour 65 grams warm water ½ teaspoon salt 15-20 drops dark yellow food coloring Other: Cornstarch/tapioca flour Steps: 1. For the siomay skin, dissolve the salt in water, then pour it into the flour and stir it with chopsticks. 2. Knead by hand until well combined, wrap in cling wrap, and let it sit for at least 1 hour. 3. For the dimsum skin, dissolve the salt and yellow food coloring in water, then pour it into the flour and stir it with chopsticks. 4. Knead by hand until well combined, wrap in cling wrap, and let it sit for at least 1 hour. 5. Divide each dough into 4 portions and coat them with cornstarch/tapioca flour. 6. If using a rolling pin, Roll the dough lengthwise, then divide each into 16-20 pieces. Roll them into balls and roll them out by moving them back and forth while rotating. 7. If using a manual rolling pin, flatten the 4-piece dough with a rolling pin and roll it out to the thickest thickness, continuing in sequence until the second-thinnest thickness is reached. 8. Sprinkle each layer with cornstarch, uniforming the size (by gently pulling), then cut using a ring cutter or bowl (as needed). 9. Sprinkle cornstarch on each sheet to prevent sticking. 10. The siomay and dim sum skins are ready to use or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator/freezer. =================== [ENGLISH] Two Ingredients Only! Tearproof Dim Sum & Shumai Wrapper Recipe To make dim sum, you'll need an elastic wrapper. Instead of buying them in a supermarket, you can also make dim sum wrappers yourself at home. Dim Sum & Shumai Wrappers Recipe (16-20 pcs) Shumai Wrapper: 135 g all-purpose protein 70 g warm water ¾ tsp salt Dim Sum Wrappers: 120 g all-purpose protein 65 g warm water ½ tsp salt 15-20 drops dark yellow food coloring Others: Cornstarch / tapioca Steps: 1. For Shumai Wrapper, dilute the salt in water and pour into the flour. Mix with chopsticks. 2. Knead by hand only until the dough comes together. Wrap with plastic wrap and rest for at least 1 hour. 3. For Dim Sum Wrapper, dilute the salt and yellow food coloring in water and pour into the flour. Mix with chopsticks. 4. Knead by hand only until the dough comes together. Wrap with plastic wrap and rest for at least 1 hour. 5. Divide each dough into four. Dust with cornstarch/tapioca. 6. If using a rolling pin, roll the dough lengthwise and divide into 16-20 pieces per dough. Round it up, flatten, and roll in a back-and-forth motion while rotating the dough. 7. If using a pasta roller, flatten the dough divided by four with a rolling pin. Then, roll manually using the thickest setting and continue to the thinnest setting or the one before. 8. Dust each layer of dough with cornstarch. Stretch it slowly to get a uniform size, then shape it with a ring cutter or a bowl (adjust the size to your needs). 9. Dust each layer with cornstarch so they don't stick. 10.
