Photo Deconstruction: Low Key Beauty Photography

In this video I deconstruct a low key, graphic beauty image of my beautiful friend and model Mari. I wanted to create an image of predominantly darker tones with just a subtle shine on her skin and an emphasis on her striking profile. I desaturated the skin to make a nearly monochromatic image with the white flowers for a stark contrast in tones. This image was created with three strobes; a beauty dish with a grid as a main light, a beauty dish with a grid as a fill light, and a 20 degree grid on the background (to create separation).
