Why I Shaved My Head

Self acceptance is something that I've grappled with in my journey with my mental health, and I think this is a common struggle for those living with a mental illness. Understanding that who I am and the way my brain works is okay, regardless of what society may tell me, has been huge in terms of self acceptance. I decided to shave my head as an expression of radical self acceptance. I'm choosing to understand and celebrate myself as the full and complicated and messy and evolving human being that I am, schizophrenia and all. This video explores this concept of radical self expression more, and why I shaved my head.
