Il découvre les “maisons de célibataires“ au Cambodge

"Freewheeling - Cambodia" / Guillaume's journey begins in Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, he heads straight to the country's first skate park to meet Skateistan, a Cambodian association that uses skateboarding as a tool for the social rehabilitation and empowerment of disadvantaged youth, aiming to help them escape their circumstances and attend school. In Phnom Penh, people with disabilities, drug addicts, delinquents—everyone skates. Guillaume meets up with Benjamin and his all-Khmer team to hit the ramp with them. He then decides to travel to Pursat and the Battambang region, where they use an unusual mode of transport: bamboo trains. He boards one of them, taking the time to understand the impact of this modernization on the villagers. Next stop: Tonlé Sap Lake and its floating villages. Located in the heart of Cambodia, the lake is longer than it is wide, with a northwest-southeast orientation. The floating village of Kompong Luong boasts a school, a police station, a gas station, and more. The houses move on their floats or bamboo poles, depending on the water level. Guillaume spends the night in this village to gain a better understanding of the villagers' way of life. Back in Phnom Penh, Guillaume meets up with Derek, a young man from Marseille and a professional bokator fighter. To conclude his trip, he travels to Ratanakiri. Accompanied by Pierre-Yves, a Frenchman who has lived in Cambodia for 20 years and is a guide specializing in bush expeditions, Guillaume visits a village of the Kreung minority, known for its "bachelor houses"—small individual huts where young people can meet discreetly while waiting to find their soulmate. #documentary #travel #heritage #cambodia A documentary by Julien BLIN and Guillaume GENSONNIE First broadcast: 2013 🌍 Subscribe to 100% Escape    / @100evasion   🌍 Produced by Bonne Pioche 🌍 Welcome to 100% Escape, the documentary channel that takes you on a journey to the four corners of the globe, and where you can rediscover the landscapes of France and around the world, international cultural heritage, and both familiar and lesser-known cuisine during incredible trips!
