227 - Interactive Satsang 02 with Q&A | Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
Interactive Satsang with Poojya Swamiji with Q&As during USA Jnana Yajna 2024 at Stonegate Elementary School, 100 Honors, CA 92620 on 17 June 2024 In this interactive Satsang, Swamiji exhorts the listeners to understand that everything in the entire universe is subject to change. Our body, mind and intelligence also go through changes throughout life. But Consciousness is eternal, unchanging. Consciousness is the source and substratum of the all the changeful factors in creation. The subtlest Consciousness can be known, intuited by the intelligence alone. All perceptions are in the level of the mind; they are subjective and internal. The mind has immense potential and power. In dream, when one is asleep, the mind produces a whole new world. But when the mind is absent or non-functional, the body is unable to do anything. As seekers, our sole focus and attention must be on understanding the mind and the intelligence. How to come to terms with the existence of poverty, wars, famine etc. in the world? Wars are man-made; Wars are generated in individual minds. But famines, floods etc. are natural calamities. When such things happen, everyone must be ready to pool their resources and help the afflicted. Considering oneself to be a member of the global family, one must make all efforts to help the needy. Human life becomes beautiful and vibrant only when a human is endowed with values. Swamiji urges young listeners to constantly take up an enquiry and evaluation as to whether they are imbibing values. By the cultivation of qualities, the mind grows and is enriched and empowered. The intelligence grows only by introspection. Every day, sometime must be allocated for introspection, where one must analyze and evaluate one’s own day, behavior, thoughts, and actions. Shlokas and Questions discussed in the Satsang: 16:43 – If we see a tree, we are only seeing the imprint of the tree in the mind?
