"My Son's Killer Is Out Enjoying Life!" Passionate Discussion on Prison and Knife Crime
Following the fatal shooting in Liverpool that killed nine-year-old schoolgirl Olivia Pratt-Korbel, Piers Morgan Uncensored with Jeremy Kyle invites some guests to discuss knife and gun crime and the state of prisons in the UK. Jeremy is joined by Pastor Lorraine Jones, whose son was stabbed to death in 2014, former police chief Dr. Victor Olisa and Bobby Kasanga, who is a reformed armed robber who was jailed for eight years and has since turned his life around and runs a football club in Hackney for youths. Lorraine reacts passionately to the tragic news of Olivia's death, stating: "If this isn't a wake-up call for everybody to come together to deal with this, I don't know what it's going to take!" She then tells Jeremy the system is broken because her son is gone but his killer "is out enjoying life" after he served only half his sentence. Jeremy then asks Bobby why he turned to crime and in an honest response he says: "Peer pressure, lack of opportunities, no positive role models, inequalities... but ultimately greed and choice". Dr. Victor Olisa believes that although the police aren't the sole solution, they can play a massive role in tackling this problem by having officers on the streets to prevent violent attacks and catch people who carry weapons.
