Couch to 5km Week One | Building in the Basics What you’ll need to get started: No Equipment 15 minutes, 3 rounds, a circuit of five exercises, 30 seconds for each exercise. A “Couch to 5km” Programme is a great way for a new runner to go from limited running to successfully running their first 5km. If you’re new to running and you’re here, you’re on the right track! By adding strength, conditioning, and yoga to your training, you can build your volume slowly and increase your strength and fitness while reducing the risk of injury. In this nine week programme, I’ll work with you to make sure you’re strong and ready to run your first 5km! For the first session in this programme, you won’t need any special equipment. Just a yoga mat and your bare feet (keep watching to find out why we suggest you wear no shoes in these sessions).
