She fell pregnant and was put into Dunboyne Mother and Baby home in Co. Meath. She gave birth to her daughter Nicole in 1986 who was born in Holles Street hospital and as she was premature, she was placed in the special care unit. However, Sharon's family would not allow her take her daughter home and she had to return home with no baby. The child was taken into foster care and later adopted by the foster family. Sharon never saw her again. She was just 17 when she signed the adoption papers and had no legal guardian with her. How was this legal?
