Mario 8 Failed | Proto6 nailed 7km! Swiss Alps Long Range FPV 😈

🏔️ Pushing Limits in the Swiss Alps: 7km Long Range Record! 🏔️ Welcome back, everyone! In this episode, we met up with some amazing Swiss FPV pilots for epic canyon dives and cinematic ridge chasing. But you know me—I couldn't resist looking at that distant peak on the other side... The plan was ambitious: a 7km long-range push. My first attempt with the massive Mario 8 (carrying an 8000mAh pack) ended in heartbreak due to video interference. With ambition still high but no suitable batteries left for the Mario, I made a spontaneous decision. I borrowed a 6000mAh 6S2P Li-Ion pack from @JockiFPV. It was too heavy for my usual ultralight Proto6 setup, adding an extra 100g. Could the Proto6 handle the weight at this altitude? And could it smash my previous 6.2km record? Spoiler alert: The Proto6 is an absolute long-range beast! Despite forgetting my ND filter in the rush (sorry for some jello during the climb!), this flight was magical. I flew through the edge of the clouds at over 1900m altitude from the home point, reaching a new personal best of 7.19 kilometers. Wait until you see the return math—this drone still had more than 50% battery left at the turnaround!
