Empowering Women Farmers Through Climate-Smart Agriculture in Jigawa State

For many women farmers in Jigawa State, dry-season farming has long been limited by inadequate access to quality seeds, irrigation technologies and other climate-smart agricultural resources. Through the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE), implemented by the Women Environmental Programme (WEP) and funded by UK International Development, 200 women farmers across Buji and Yankwashi Local Government Areas received climate-smart agricultural support, including resilient seeds, solar-powered irrigation pumps, knapsack sprayers and extension services to improve productivity, strengthen livelihoods and build resilience to climate change. This short documentary tells the story of the intervention through the voices of the women farmers, government stakeholders, extension workers and project partners, highlighting how collaboration between government and development partners is advancing green growth, climate resilience and inclusive livelihoods in Jigawa State.
