UN MAGNIFIQUE JARDIN D’ÉVASION EN HAUTE BRETAGNE

Located in Le Châtellier near Fougères in Ille-et-Vilaine, the Parc botanique de Haute-Bretagne was created by Alain Jouno 30 years ago. This erudite and passionate man is showing Patrick Mioulane today the western part of this 25-hectare property, which is structured into several thematic gardens. We begin with the former vegetable garden, now "the ancient city," which evokes the paradise gardens of Persia and Islam. Then, we head to the "Secret Garden," a very elegant Renaissance-style garden that plays a major ecological role in water purification. The walk offers a touch of romance with "the Reposoir de l'harmonie du soir," its collection of kalmias and the plant counterpart of the Palmyra tetrapylon. This first visit continues amidst the flowers in the English rose garden. It ends at "La Source bleue," promising a second film soon that will take you on a tour of the eastern part of this exceptionally rich garden. This report was filmed in the last days of May.
