She Bought and Renovated a 700 Year Old English Cottage in Her 20’s
Amy’s English cottage is absolutely beautiful. Located in Essex, this 700 year old English cottage is like nothing we have ever seen on the show before. From the moment you first lay eyes on this enchanting home, you can feel the weight of its history pressing in. The stories this building could tell. The many lives that have passed through its doors. The changing tides of history that are built into the very walls of this arcane treasure. Today, we are incredibly lucky to step inside this mesmerising cottage and experience its magic for ourselves. For Amy, this home became the perfect extension of a new chapter in her life. After leaving London to open an antiques store as a family business with her parents and brother, she began searching for a home that truly fit her love of history and craftsmanship. She found exactly that here. The right person bought this home too. Amy’s deep love of history has led her to uncover many of the stories hidden within its walls. From its origins as a hall house to major renovations carried out in the 1600s, she has carefully pieced together the past of this extraordinary building. And yet, even now, the cottage still feels as though it holds more secrets waiting to be discovered. Honouring the character of the home, Amy has thoughtfully renovated the space to reflect her own unique style. As a lover of antiques, history, and art, the cottage is now filled with carefully chosen pieces and fascinating objects. It is a true treasure trove, with something interesting to discover in every corner. Beyond the home itself, tucked away at the rear of the cottage, lies the garden. A true cottagecore dream, it is filled with flowers, ponds, and mature trees. Stepping outside feels like passing through a doorway into a secret garden, a place where time slows down and the worries of the world seem to drift away. Through her care, creativity, and deep respect for the past, Amy has taken an already enchanted English cottage and made it even more magical. We hope you enjoy this tour of her spellbinding, history filled cottage home.
