Campervan Ski Trip to Tignes: Where to Park and Our Top Tips!

This week we’re making the most of our final days of our ski trip in the French Alps, starting with a day skiing Tignes by campervan, including where to park and how to access the slopes. We’ve visited Tignes before on ski trips, but never like this, and finding somewhere to stay overnight here isn’t the easiest. We were recommended a paid car park in Les Brévières, right next to the gondola, which turned out to be a perfect base for the day. With fresh powder and beautiful conditions, it was a great way to experience a new ski area for a small parking fee. After that, we head back to Les Arcs for one last day on the slopes. By this point we’d found a rhythm with parking in Bourg Saint Maurice and taking the funicular up, and decided to make the most of our time with a 4-hour pass, squeezing in as much skiing as possible before finishing the day with a hot chocolate at the top and a long ski back down. There’s also a few familiar stops along the way, including one of our favourite spots for sausage rolls and hot chocolates, and a final visit to Le Snowdwich for a well-earned panini and frites. ✨ HIGHLIGHTS 🎿 Skiing in Tignes with fresh powder 🚐 Campervan parking in Les Brévières 🚠 Easy gondola access straight to the slopes 🏔 Back to Les Arcs for our final ski day ⛷ Building confidence on red runs & trying the snow park 🍫 Mountain cafés, hot chocolates & favourite food stops We finish the trip back at our free spot in Bourg Saint Maurice, with a pizza van just down the road, which we would consider a pretty perfect end to an amazing few weeks in the Alps. Skiing the French Alps by campervan has been much easier than we expected, and hopefully this video helps if you're planning or considering doing the same. We’re Jack (Watto) and Laura (LJ), and we have moved into our self converted campervan (Citroen Relay) to embrace full time vanlife. After a three month adventure in 2024 to France, Spain and Portugal, we realised that we needed to see more of the world, and vanlife was the perfect way to do it. And so began our year long plan to make it happen. We quit our long term, corporate jobs and went through the process of renting our house so we could begin our dream of motorhome travel in Europe. We finally packed up our belongings, moved into our van, and began our road trip in March 2025. We began in Scotland, and then made our way to Europe and Scandinavia.
