Alpine Divorce AVOIDED in the Dolomites

This is the story of how we avoided an alpine divorce while hiking in the Dolomites. What is an alpine divorce? The contemporary term was coined to describe breakups and relationship failures that occur during and/or as a result of the stress of outdoor activities. During five days of hut-to-hut hiking in the Dolomites, we failed to reach one of our rifugios. Not making it to your mountain hut is enough to spark conflict for any solid relationship. This is how we navigated the unexpected challenge of not making it to our mountain hut and avoided an alpine divorce in the Dolomites.
