Longton Fire – Market Street, 2 September 2025

Early this morning, a huge fire broke out at a derelict building on Market Street, Longton. Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue were called at around 2.50am and worked through the night with six engines and two aerial ladder platforms. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, but nearby properties were evacuated, and roads remain closed while the site is made safe. It’s devastating to see the damage to this building, which once held so many memories for local people. Massive thanks to the firefighters for their hard work and bravery.
