Today I’m heading to Tioman Island 🇲🇾 And the closer I get, the more I feel — this is a completely different Malaysia. No big cities. No skyscrapers. Just simple local life. I arrived at the ferry station, bought my ticket, and while waiting, found a small place serving incredible nasi lemak and the most refreshing coconut ice dessert. Then the ferry ride began. When I reached Tioman, the hotel owner was waiting for me — not with a car, but with a motorbike attached to a small cart. We climbed into the cart and drove through the village toward our bungalow by the beach. And that’s when I realized — life here moves slower. And that’s exactly what makes it special. Bungalows. Sea. Jungle. Quiet beaches. The less civilization — the better it feels.
