Crónicas y relatos de México - Ciudad Universitaria (13/02/2014)

Inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2007, Ciudad Universitaria is, above all, a living heritage, in addition to being a monumental and integral architectural complex of the 20th century, an urban jewel that harmoniously integrates its surroundings and spaces, the product of a great collective work in which the best architects, engineers and artists of Mexico at that time participated, suffice it to mention Mario Pani, Carlos Lazo, Enrique del Moral, Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, Félix Candela, Luis Barragán, Diego Rivera, Juan O'Gorman, David Alfaro Siqueiros and many more... In CU, as it is affectionately called, is the Central Library, a building decorated on its exterior with a huge mural dedicated to the pre-Hispanic figure of Tláloc, made by Juan O' Gorman. Furthermore, the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, inaugurated in 1952, was the first to have a "dovecote" specifically designed to serve as a radio booth during the 1968 Olympic Games broadcasts. It would be impossible to cover all the spaces housed here in this program; this exhibition serves as an open invitation to come and enjoy them.
